The research excellence team on practical philosophy with focus on bioethics at the Faculty of Arts (FF UCM) has been built for more than 10 years, during which it has systematically been concentrated on  current ethical problems of stem cells, transplantation, NBIC technologies in healthcare), viewed from the perspective of practical philosophy. The main research activities of the team are aimed at the analysis of ethical and social implications of emergent technologies, especially of human genome editing (technology of genome editing was awarded by the 2020 Nobel Prize in chemistry) and at the related philosophical and socio-cultural issues concerning transhumanism and posthumanism.
